Review the Work Environment Assessment Template you completed for this Module’s Discussion.
Describe the results of the Work Environment Assessment you completed on your workplace.
Identify two things that surprised you about the results and one idea you believed prior to conducting the Assessment that was confirmed.
Explain what the results of the Assessment suggest about the health and civility of your workplace.
Part 2: Reviewing the Literature (1-2 pages)
Briefly describe the theory or concept presented in the article(s) you selected.
Explain how the theory or concept presented in the article(s) relates to the results of your Work Environment Assessment.
Explain how your organization could apply the theory highlighted in your selected article(s) to improve organizational health and/or create stronger work teams. Be specific and provide examples.
Here is a structure you could follow for your assignment. I’ve included headings for each section, so you can easily organize your work and align it with the instructions:
Title: Work Environment Assessment and Literature Review
Part 1: Work Environment Assessment (1-2 pages)
In this section, begin by discussing the results of the Work Environment Assessment you completed on your workplace. Be sure to identify the two things that surprised you and explain one idea that was confirmed after completing the assessment. For example:
- Summary of Results: Provide an overview of the key findings from your Work Environment Assessment, such as how civility, teamwork, communication, and respect were rated within your workplace. Mention any scores or themes that were particularly high or low.
- Unexpected Results: Discuss two results that were unexpected. These could be aspects of the work environment that you didn’t expect to rate highly or low, based on your personal experience prior to conducting the assessment.

In this section, provide a brief description of the theory or concept presented in the article(s) you selected. Then, discuss how the theory or concept aligns with the results from your Work Environment Assessment.
- Summary of Theory/Concept: Briefly explain the main theory or concept presented in the article(s) you reviewed. For instance, if you selected Clark (2019), you could summarize the importance of workplace civility and how it impacts team dynamics and organizational health.
- Connection to Work Environment Assessment Results: Explain how the theory or concept in the article(s) relates to the results of your Work Environment Assessment. For example, if the assessment showed a lack of civility or trust, you could relate this to Clark’s theory on how negative work environments can lead to decreased employee morale and productivity.
- Application to Improve Organizational Health and Teamwork: Suggest how your organization could apply the theory or concepts you discussed to improve the work environment. Be specific with your examples. For instance, you might propose that your organization implement a formal civility training program based on Clark’s findings, or adopt team-building strategies to improve cooperation and reduce workplace incivility.
Conclusion (Optional):
You may choose to conclude your assignment by summarizing your key points or proposing next steps for your organization based on the insights you gained from both the Work Environment Assessment and the literature review. This could include specific interventions or actions that could improve your organization’s health and civility.
